PFT Calculator
Estimate a U.S. Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test score for pull-ups or push-ups, the forearm plank, and the 3-mile run. The calculator uses the published MCO 6100.13A CH-5 age/sex scoring standards and also identifies the separate 2026 combat-arms requirement announced in MARADMIN 613/25.

PFT Scoring Chart by Age Band
The figures below are the published minimum (40-point) and maximum (100-point, or 70-point for push-ups) anchors for each event, by age band and sex, from MCO 6100.13A CH-5 Tables 2-2 and 2-5.
| Age band | M pull-up (min–max) | F pull-up (min–max) | M push-up (min–max) | F push-up (min–max) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17–20 | 4–20 | 1–7 | 42–82 | 19–42 |
| 21–25 | 5–23 | 3–11 | 40–87 | 18–48 |
| 26–30 | 5–23 | 4–12 | 39–84 | 18–50 |
| 31–35 | 5–23 | 3–11 | 36–80 | 16–46 |
| 36–40 | 5–21 | 3–10 | 34–76 | 14–43 |
| 41–45 | 5–20 | 2–8 | 30–72 | 12–41 |
| 46–50 | 4–19 | 2–6 | 25–68 | 11–40 |
| 51+ | 3–18 | 2–4 | 20–64 | 10–38 |
“Min” scores 40 points; “max” scores 100 points on pull-ups or 70 points on push-ups. Pull-up minimums for men are below the women’s minimums because men score against a higher-ceiling scale overall.
| Age band | M — 100 pts | M — 40 pts | F — 100 pts | F — 40 pts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17–20 | 18:00 | 27:40 | 21:00 | 30:50 |
| 21–25 | 18:00 | 27:40 | 21:00 | 30:50 |
| 26–30 | 18:00 | 28:00 | 21:00 | 31:10 |
| 31–35 | 18:00 | 28:20 | 21:00 | 31:30 |
| 36–40 | 18:00 | 28:40 | 21:00 | 31:50 |
| 41–45 | 18:30 | 29:20 | 21:30 | 32:30 |
| 46–50 | 19:00 | 30:00 | 22:00 | 33:30 |
| 51+ | 19:30 | 33:00 | 22:30 | 36:00 |
A run time slower than the 40-point column fails that event. The forearm plank uses one table for every Marine regardless of age or sex: a 3:45 hold scores 100 points, 1:10 scores 40, and anything under 1:10 fails the event.
PFT Classification Tiers
| Total score | Class | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 235–300 | 1st Class | Published PFT classification |
| 200–234 | 2nd Class | Published PFT classification |
| 150–199 | 3rd Class | Published general minimum passing class |
| Under 150 | Failure | Same result if any single event scores below 40 |
2026 combat-arms rule: MARADMIN 613/25 requires Marines in the listed combat-arms PMOSs to be scored with the male, age-normed standard and achieve at least 210 total points. A Marine can therefore have a generally passing PFT classification yet still be below the separate combat-arms 210-point requirement.
Pull-ups or Push-ups: Which Scores Higher?
They’re two different scales, not one scale with two names. This is the single most common source of a miscalculated PFT score.
Pull-ups: up to 100 points
Pull-ups are the only route to a full 300-point PFT. A 25-year-old male scoring 100 points needs 23 dead-hang pull-ups.
Push-ups: capped at 70 points
Even a maxed-out push-up set tops out at 70 of the 100 available points, which caps the highest possible PFT total at 270 instead of 300.
Use the table for the event performed
Pull-up and push-up repetitions are scored on separate published tables. Do not convert one event into the other or compare the repetition counts directly.
PFT Calculator Examples
Illustrative scoring examples using the same published-table model as the calculator.
Male, age 22 · pull-ups
The total is classified only after checking that each event meets its own published minimum.
Female pull-up minimum differs
The official table assigns 60 points at the female pull-up minimum, so the calculator handles that event separately.
2026 combat-arms context
MARADMIN 613/25 applies this rule to the combat-arms PMOSs listed in the message; other Marines retain the existing sex- and age-normed standards.
PFT Scoring Mistakes to Avoid
Assuming pull-ups and push-ups use the same scale
They don’t. A calculator (or a Marine) that scores push-up reps against the pull-up table will overstate the score by a wide margin at the top of the range.
Treating a high total as automatic passing
Any single event below 40 points fails the whole test, no matter how high the other two events score. Check every event’s minimum, not just the combined total.
Using outdated crunches-based scoring
The forearm plank fully replaced abdominal crunches effective January 1, 2023. A chart or calculator still scoring crunches is using a retired standard.
Confusing PFT with APFT
APFT refers to the U.S. Army’s old fitness test, since replaced by the AFT. Marines take the PFT, a completely different test with a different scoring scale — the terms aren’t interchangeable.
Forgetting the row substitution rule
The 5,000-meter row is authorized for Marines 46 and over or with a medical exemption, in place of the 3-mile run. This calculator doesn’t score the row — check with your unit if that applies to you.
