Uma Affinity Calculator

This Uma Musume affinity calculator estimates the training synergy of your support card deck from three inputs — average bond level, stat-type-matching cards, and rainbow cards — so you can compare deck choices before locking in a run. Search for it as a Uma Musume calculator or an affinity calculator for Uma, and you’ll land on the same tool, with the formula shown at every step.

Also known as: Uma Musume support card calculator, training synergy calculator, bond level calculator, rainbow training calculator, support deck affinity score.

Not the game’s official formula. This calculator is a simplified planning estimate for comparing deck choices against each other, not a reproduction of the game’s actual internal training-bonus calculation. In-game stat gains also depend on specific card skills, event outcomes, and scenario mechanics that this tool doesn’t model. All calculations run locally in your browser — nothing is sent or stored. Why use this calculator

Turning bond level and type matching into one comparable number

Building a strong Uma Musume support card deck means juggling two things at once: how high your bond is with each card, and how well each card’s stat type and favorite training line up with the uma you’re training. A Uma Musume affinity calculator — whether you’re searching for it as a Uma Musume calculator or an affinity calculator for Uma — turns those two factors into a single, comparable affinity score, so you can test “what if” swaps — a higher-bond card versus a better-matching one — before you commit a run to it.

The score is intentionally simple. Bond points scale with how many cards you’re running and your average bond level with them, since bond level directly affects how often a card shows up and whether it can trigger stronger effects. A type-matching bonus rewards cards whose stat lines up with your uma’s main stat, because those cards appear more often during the training you’re actually doing. A rainbow bonus layers on top for cards that combine high bond with a favorite-training match, reflecting the outsized stat gain rainbow training provides compared with a normal session.

Players comparing two possible support decks, deciding whether to swap in a higher-bond card, or just trying to understand how bond level and type matching interact can use this training synergy calculator to get a quick, consistent number rather than eyeballing it. Some players also reach for this tool while thinking ahead to race day, since a well-built support deck is what produces the stat totals a strong race run depends on — even though this calculator itself estimates training synergy, not a race outcome.

How it works

How this calculator scores a support deck

This calculator adds together three components — bond points, a type-matching bonus, and a rainbow bonus — to produce one affinity score you can use to compare deck configurations.

Bond points

Bond Points = Cards × Average Bond% × 0.3. Higher bond levels unlock hints and stronger card effects, so this component scales with both how many cards you run and how high your average bond is.

Type-matching bonus

Each card whose stat type matches your uma’s primary stat contributes +15 to the synergy score, since matching cards more often appear during the specific training you’re doing.

Rainbow bonus

Each rainbow card — bond 80% or higher with favorite training active — adds an extra +25 on top of its type-match bonus, reflecting the much larger stat boost rainbow training provides in-game.

What this model leaves out

Specific support-card skills and hints, scenario-specific bonuses, and event-chain outcomes all affect a deck’s real value beyond bond level and type matching, and none of them are modeled here.

Worked examples

Three deck configurations, calculated step by step

Three common deck configurations worked end-to-end using the same formula as the calculator above.

Balanced 6-card deck

60% average bond

“My deck of 6 support cards has an average bond level of 60%, with 3 type-matching cards and 1 rainbow card. What’s the affinity score?”

Given inputs

  • Cards: 6
  • Average bond: 60%
  • Type-matching: 3
  • Rainbow: 1

Computed outputs

  • Bond points: 6 × 60 × 0.3 = 108
  • Type bonus: 3 × 15 = 45
  • Rainbow bonus: 1 × 25 = 25
  • Affinity score: 108 + 45 + 25 = 178
Rainbow-focused, late in a run

85% average bond

“My deck of 6 cards has climbed to an average bond of 85%, with 4 type-matching cards and 2 of those now rainbow. How does this compare to the balanced deck above?”

Given inputs

  • Cards: 6
  • Average bond: 85%
  • Type-matching: 4
  • Rainbow: 2

Computed outputs

  • Bond points: 6 × 85 × 0.3 = 153
  • Type bonus: 4 × 15 = 60
  • Rainbow bonus: 2 × 25 = 50
  • Affinity score: 153 + 60 + 50 = 263 — noticeably higher than the balanced deck
Early-game deck, low bond

30% average bond

“Early in my run, only 3 support cards are in play, average bond sits at 30%, and just 1 card currently matches my uma’s stat type, with no rainbow cards yet. What does the score look like?”

Given inputs

  • Cards: 3
  • Average bond: 30%
  • Type-matching: 1
  • Rainbow: 0

Computed outputs

  • Bond points: 3 × 30 × 0.3 = 27
  • Type bonus: 1 × 15 = 15
  • Rainbow bonus: 0 × 25 = 0
  • Affinity score: 27 + 15 + 0 = 42 — a useful baseline to track growth against as bond rises
Common mistakes & edge cases

Where affinity score estimates go wrong

1

Counting a card as “rainbow” without checking favorite training

A high-bond, type-matching card is not automatically a rainbow card — favorite training also has to be active for that session. Only count a card as rainbow if both conditions are currently true.

2

Entering more matching or rainbow cards than your total card count

Type-matching and rainbow counts can never exceed the number of cards in your deck, and rainbow cards are a subset of type-matching cards. The calculator caps these automatically, but double-check your own counts before comparing decks.

3

Treating the affinity score as an in-game stat

This score is a planning estimate for comparing your own deck options, not a number that appears anywhere in the actual game. Don’t try to match it against community benchmarks that use a different formula.

4

Chasing bond level while ignoring type matching

A high-bond card of the wrong stat type still contributes less synergy than a matching card at moderate bond. Balancing both across the deck usually beats maximizing bond alone.

5

Using a single snapshot instead of tracking bond growth over a run

Bond level rises throughout a run, so a score calculated at the start will understate a deck’s later value. Recalculate at a few points in the run to see how the affinity score changes as bond builds.

FAQ

Uma affinity calculator: frequently asked questions

What is a “rainbow” training session?+
It’s when a support card’s favorite training type matches the training you’re doing, and your bond with that card is high enough — typically 80% or more. This combination gives a significantly larger stat bonus than a normal training session, which is why rainbow cards carry the biggest weight in this calculator.
Why does bond level matter so much in this calculator?+
Higher bond unlocks hints, increases the chance of a card appearing during training, and is a prerequisite for rainbow training — so raising bond early in a run tends to compound into better stat gains later, which is why bond points make up the base of the affinity score.
Should I prioritize type-matching cards over raw bond level?+
Both matter — a high-bond card of the wrong type still helps less than a matching card, but a matching card at low bond won’t reach rainbow training either. Balancing both across your deck usually scores best on this calculator and tends to perform best in practice.
Is this the same as the game’s actual training formula?+
No. This is a simplified planning estimate. The game’s actual stat-gain formula factors in specific skills, event outcomes, and scenario mechanics that this calculator doesn’t attempt to model exactly.
What’s a good affinity score to aim for?+
There’s no official target — this score is meant for comparing your own deck choices relative to each other, such as testing whether swapping a card in improves your estimate, rather than matching an external benchmark.
Does the calculator account for specific support card skills?+
No. Skills, hints, and event-chain outcomes vary card by card and aren’t included in this model — the affinity score only reflects bond level, type matching, and rainbow status.
